On November 10, 2007, Master Quoc L. Tran, founder and chief instructor of Tran's Combat Martial Arts and Martial Arts Association - International US Representative Director hosted the International Kongo Bugei Kai (International Mixed Martial Arts Association) - MASTERS CIRCLE - THE GATHERING 2007. The event was held at The Mission Church's gym in Paramus, New Jersey. Master Tran is the continental director of North America for the IKBK/IMMAA who organized this first International Masters Gathering of the International Kongo Bugei Kai; and a full day of seminars conducted by some of the Elite masters of the IKBK/IMMAA.



The masters of the event are Kyoshi Jason Carter from Canada, president of the IKBK/IMMAA; teaches the "obi do" - "way of the belt" techniques on how to block, trap, strike, choke an opponent from his style of NYINGBULAM RYU JUJITSU "The Modern Semurai", Master Quoc L. Tran from New Jersey, teaches his style of "VIETNAMESE COMBAT MARTIAL ARTS / WUSHU" includes speed, self defense techniques against a punch, kick, choke and his Lu Tran Kung Fu one hand combat "Lien Hoang Fist" techniques, etc. and Hanshi Stephen Lonsdale from South Jersey, teaches "AIKI AND CONTROL" of karate and joint locks.

International Kong Bugei Kai (International Mixed Martial Arts Association) is an Institution of Gendai Budo Ryu's and Dojo's. These ryu's and dojo's stress functional and practical self defense as its core of their teachings and promote the traditional budo philosophy and training as an effective and realistic self defense and moral role with the world we live in today. It was started by Kyoshi Jason Carter in 2002 and now has members and affiliated dojos from around the world such as Canada, USA, England, Spain, France, Nepal, Philippines, etc.

ABOUT THE EVENT MASTERS

Kyoshi Jason Carter martial arts career spans over half of his life.  He started his martial arts training when he was 11 years old in the art of "Black Dragon Kung Fu".   He then went on to practice the art of "Judo" a few years later at the age of 13. He has gone on to train in the art of "Shotokan Karate" which he presently holds the rank of 3 rd Dan.  He received this rank from a great Karate and Jujitsu.  Sensei Carter has also done extensive studying and training in the arts of Jujitsu as well. He also presently holds the rank of 4th Dan and the title of "Shihan" in the Jujitsu art of Seishindo.  He had the honor of receiving his Shodan in Seishindo from the founder himself, Shodai Soke Steve Lonsdale.   Kyoshi Carter continued to study and train in a variety of Jujitsu's and locking/controlling arts.  In 2002, he founded his own Jujitsu Ryu, called Nyingbulam. Since its inception, many National and International Federations have recognized Nyingbulam Ryu Jujitsu. The martial arts community first recognized it as an official martial system back in 2004.   In the spring of 2007, he was given the title and license of "Kyoshi" in his Ryu.  It was also at that time, it was recognized by the "European Jujitsu / Jujitsu union", "International Jujitsu Federation" as well as the "Nippon Seibukan" in kyoto, Japan. Now, it is under the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education "ICSSPE" and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO" umbrella.

Master Quoc L. Tran is a young and talented, Vietnamese martial artist who has been involved in the martial arts since he was young in which he has studied, trained, taught and researched.  He currently holds high black belt rank in several martial arts styles and systems. He began to teach martial arts privately while he attended New Jersey Institute of Technology where he studied and graduated with a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. After he graduated, he continued to teach martial arts privately to his students at his house.  He is the US Representative Directorof the Martial Arts Association ? International ( www.MAA-I.com ) and founded the style of Tinh Vo Dao "The Way of Smart Fighting Arts"/Vietnamese Combat Natural Boxing, Tranjitsu, Street Rapid Defense System and Lu Tran Kung Fu. All his styles are recognized both nationally and internationally by many respected, renowned and well established martial arts organizations in the world.   For all the styles that he founded, he calls it "Vietnamese Combat Martial Arts / Wushu".  Master Tran would love to shares his styles and knowledge to anyone who want to learn.   He is recognized as the Master and Founder of his own fighting styles, an innovator and a very humble person. 

Hanshi Stephen Lonsdale was born in 1954 in Liverpool England and grew up in Ontario, Canada. He is now an American citizen.  He began studying Shotokan Karatedo in Canada in 1973.   He achieved the rank of Nidan and started a dojo in Goderich, Ontario.  He also studied Jujutsu and achieved the rank of Nidan.  In 1990, he began the study of Hakkoryu JuJutsu and traveled to Japan in 1993. It was then he trained and tested for Shodan under the son of the founder of Hakkoryu, Nidai Soke Ryuho Okuyama. He spent a year in Ohio studying at the Eight Light ( U.S. Honbu) Dojo under Menkyo Kaiden Shihan Sandaikichu Michael J. LaMonica, the highest ranked non-oriental practitioner of Hakkoryu. He attained the rank of Sandan. As a Correctional Officer in Canada, he was certified as an instructor in the Koga Method of Self Defense and also a certified instructor in Pressure Point Control Tactics under Georges Sylvan, Algonquin Justice College. After 18 years of being a Correctional Officer in Canada, he moved to New Jersey.  In 1998, he founded Seishindo which was recognized by the International Freestyle Martial Arts Organization, World Head of Family Sokeship Council Hall of Fame,
The Martial Arts Masters Pioneers and Legends Hall of Fame and the International Mixed Martial Arts Hall of Fame.  On November 10, 2007 , he was awarded the rank of Judan and the title of Hanshi by the IKBK and the European Jujitsu Union.

The IKBK/IMMAA Masters Circle ? The Gathering 2007 was a successful event. This is one of the greatest events in the martial arts history. All the participants enjoyed the instructions of the three masters; many techniques were taught and so much to learn within one day, but everyone had good time training. Also, through this event, people had an opportunity to make new friends. This is what the vision of the IKBK/IMMAA; is to gather, unite and foster the world's elite modern martial artists and systems.

After the event, the masters and all the participants went out to eat together at the International Buffet in Bergenfield, New Jersey.

Next year's event is already being planned and it is going to be held in Ontario, Canada.
